Welcome...

***Klingle Road DEIS Comment Period closed September 15, 2005. The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) is currently being prepared. The FEIS will summarize the public involvement that occurred in conjunction with the EIS process and include all comments received on the DEIS along with official responses; incorporate changes, where applicable, to the EIS in response to substantive comments received; and include mitigation measures aimed at minimizing impacts to National Park Service administered lands from the proposed alternatives. ***

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) have made available to interested governmental agencies, private entities and individuals a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for its proposal to reconstruct Klingle Road for vehicular and recreational uses within the District of Columbia right-of-way. The DEIS considers potential impacts to the natural and manmade environments including land use, air quality, noise, utility services, transportation, cultural, aesthetic, hydrological and biological resources, among other topics.
